How’s everyone doing?
I know it’s been a minute since I last checked on yall. I know most of you have had concerns on why I haven’t posted in a while, but your girl is back, bigger, better and levelled up.
2019 started off on a high note. From drawing more closer to God to moving houses to get that promotion(go me! lol), to losing some few pounds to discovering an adventurous side of me, to reading more books and getting a deeper understanding about the woman I’ve become.
I wore a pink dress to represent Women’s History Month. It’s also a flaunt of my feminism. For those who know me personally, know that I am a feminist, which is a personal choice. Being feminist means seeing another as a human before seeing them as either male or female. And most important is equal rights and opportunities for both male and female.
We’ve in the past grown up to be told the women’s place in the society is in the kitchen(rolls eyes). But times have evolved to a place where some women(me included) are seen as too much to someone else. You may know her as too opinionated, too queer, too strong, too loud, too slutty, we can go on and on. In other words, the unruly woman is probably the most provocative, most visible and less dismissed. Don’t let things that have been said about you stand in the way of your dreams. They can’t dim your light sis.
Ladies, you have to own your womanhood, your body and your sexuality. Learn to smile, wear that cute dress, pick softer colours, and if you were blessed with legs, sis show them off. Develop self-care by loving yourself enough to put yourself first. Are you a makeup kinda girl? Wear it with confidence. Food for thought I believe that makeup is a form of expression and no one should demean how you express yourself.
Have the power to shift focus on the things that matter and just know the world doesn’t owe you happiness, instead pursue your happiness and change your focus.
Thanks for checking in.
