Need-to-know tips on how to shop for a jumpsuit.

Posted on

Hey, lovelies! I hope you are really keeping cute and warm with this unpredictably rainy weather. I know it has been a minute since I checked on you guys. Life has been quite inconsistent these past few weeks. They say the beauty of life lies in its unpredictability, aye? Things have sorta ‘cooled down’ and am back to the grind, to share some fashionspiration.

Do you have any kinda jumpsuit tucked away in your wardrobe? is it something you grab often or you’re just waiting for that ideal occasion? Many a time women do a lot of impulse shopping only to get home and find it’s not what you expected. The jumpsuit trend has been around since the 70’s and I bet it’s gonna stick around for a minute. Jumpsuits are typically pants, they can work appropriate and great for any season.

The fit is key:

Key advice ladies, before you get that jumpsuit off the rack, get into that changing room and try because they come in different fits for diverse body sizes and shapes. Here are some things to factor in:-

The neckline:

Choose a neckline that augurs well with your body size and compliments every aspect. Personally, V-neck jumpsuits work anytime for me as they’re the sexy and sultry way to show off some skin, giving you that femme fatale kinda vibe. The neckline also dictates where and when you’ll be wearing the jumpsuit, you know, appropriate occasions and what now.

The waist:

A jumpsuit is essentially a continuous piece of fabric. The waist can make or break a jumpsuit. The torso area also is a crucial aspect to consider as it plays a big role in defining your figure. And we don’t want to go around showing off your camel toe. That wouldn’t be so nice LOL. Bonus point:- an elongated torso also lengthens the legs.

The legs:

The trouser portion is probably what gets your attention when buying a jumpsuit. I personally go for jumpsuits when I want that top and trouser look pulled into one convenient classy item. Cuts come in different types. The culottes, wide leg, pencil and straight cuts. The straight cut is right up in my alley because it’s very practical. you can go from dressy to casual real quick.

The shoes make or break the outfit:

If you’re opting for the dressy kinda vibe, strappy heels or pumps will do the trick. Accessorize with a fitted leather jacket (Roll up the sleeves) for an edgier vibe and as always you can never go wrong with jewellery. Go easy on those as the jumpsuit is already doing the most. If you’re going for the casual look swap your heels for easy flats because comfort is key.

The colour:

Colour always plays a big role in shopping for your jumpsuit. Or any other clothing items. I personally chose teal because it’s a unique colour. But remember there is nothing like too much black when it comes to practicality. If you don’t own any kind of jumpsuit, get a black one, you’ll wear it as many times as you can. In any event, really.

Lastly ladies, your inner garments also play a very big role. We can’t stress this enough. There is nothing that makes an outfit lose its glamour faster than your choice of undergarments, especially when it comes to wearing a jumpsuit. SEAMLESS is the way to go. Always.

I really love the last tip on inner garment coz that is where most of the ladies go wrong. Seamless is the best but if you jumpsuit is kinda dark and light material always juggle on your inner wear colour too. You may do well hiding the lining but the colour can be a turn off. My concern however is when you get to use the rest rooms🤪🤣😂 I find my mrs struggling especially when pressed.. u na meen?🤫🤫
